Per quanto attiene inoltre l’opportunità di ampliare il dibattito ad altri documenti delle Nazioni Unite non si ravvisa l’esistenza di un nesso diretto tra la tematica della biodiversità e quella della masticazione tradizionale della foglia di coca. "Eppure in discussione generale, durante le audizioni e in occasione del voto degli emendamenti, ci sembrava di aver evidenziato e articolato, assieme a tutti i membri del PD in commissione giustizia, quali fossero le poche cose da modificare perché il provvedimento sulle detenute madri potesse esser finalmente salutato come un riconoscimento dei diritti umani e delle necessità dei bambini - se proprio di quelli dei detenuti si ritiene di non dovercene interessare - che sono costretti a vivere in carcere colle proprie madri.
