Il social network di Zuckerberg ha creato sia una sezione apposita per il supporto a persone che hanno intenzione di togliersi la vita (anche se forse è di cattivo gusto inserirla nell'ambito dellla segnalazione degli abusi) e un modulo che permette di comunicare i contenuti che fanno riferimento al suicidio. Una volta ricevuta la segnalazione, Facebook valuta quanto i segnali siano preoccupanti e in caso avverte autorità o associazioni del paese da cui proviene l'avvertimento. Come, nel caso del Regno Unito, l'associazione Samaritans o altre con cui ci sia un accordo.
